FAINTING DURING A BLOOD TEST!

Hello lovelies! 

So a few posts ago, I mentioned that we will see if the NHS would do my husbands blood tests. However, it was such a hassle that we found it less stressful to just pay Manchester fertility clinic to just do the blood tests. we paid £908 for both the hormone test and genetics. 

They took three little bottles of blood from my husband, he felt very light headed, couldn't move his legs! so they had to lay him down for a while! (drama queen haha) He did have a very big breakfast prior though!

So after that, we had an appointment at the NHS hospital the letter said that it's an ultrasound of some sort to check if there's any blockage or damage to his area. We got to the hospital and they were confused. The doctor didn't know why we were there. They referred us to the urology department. He said there's nothing they can do there. So he referred us to the infertility department. 

NHS is just so messy. So we basically went all the way to the appointment for no reason. 

ANYWAY, the test results will be in 3 weeks time and hopefully it's not bad news.

PRAM GOALS!

Hello everyone!

Hope you are all well and happy!

So, if you didn't know by now haha we are TTC and I still have a lot of hope that it will happen one way or another we will have that baby! BUT for now, I have all this time to plan and fantasies about what I will buy and what I will do. You know how we are when it comes to planning we plan everything to the last inch! I have decided to share whats been going on in my head and things I have found online that I definitely will buy for my bump, baby and me.

I know what pram I want to get, however, if you have any other better suggestions or you have this pram and you don't recommend it please let me know.

I am in love! I know it's a little pricey, but it's going to be my first baby, and I can always keep it for my second baby or sell it! So with all the accessories I need for inside the car, ect it will all in all be just under £1,700 and for something that I am in love with I honestly believe it's worth every penny.

Fancy shmancy private clinic!!

Hope you are all well, and happy.

I am going to be carrying on from my last blog, if you have still not read please do this will make a lot more sense!

So, like I said in the previous blog we decided to book an appointment with Manchester fertility clinic after months of research I found in terms of location, and the reviews it was the best.

We called them up to book our first every appointment the lady booked me in for tests and also a followup consultation which came to a £735.

We had to pay that in advance and also fill in a form and send it before the appointment.

On the day of the appointment we went in and my husband was taken to give his sample and I was taken for an internal ultrasound. The whole experience very comfortable I felt like we were actually taken more seriously. So when she was doing the ultrasound she can only find one of my ovaries the other one was hiding somewhere so she asked me to go and drink a lot of water so she can do the normal ultrasound to see if she can locate the other ovary. Which did appear on the screen later on.

They also did a blood test to see my egg reserve because I told them I wanted to do IVF treatment.

Our follow up appointment was a week after, so we went in the doctor was extremely helpful and informative. He basically said 'Your pelvic ultrasound scan shows an entirely normal uterus and healthy ovaries with an antral follicle count of 14+6. Your anti-mullerian hormone level measures 37.6 pmol/l. These numbers reflects good ovarian reserve and predicts a food ovarian response in IVF. The semen shows a sperm concentration of 1,800,000/mL with 6% of progressive motile forms. with such sperm quality, pregnancy is achievable by IVF/ICSU treatment.' This was actually in an email they send as a summary to what we talked about.

He advised my husband to freeze his sperm, he also said to work out why it's so low he needs to take two blood tests one to test his hormone levels and one to determine whether it is a genetic cause.

The hormone blood test was quoted at £150 and the genetics was £750. Which is a lot. He also said that there is 100% chance that if my husband is a carrier if I conceive a son he will also be a carrier.

Which to me was something I will not go through until I know for sure that the problem is not genetic.

Anyway, we decided to try our luck again and see if the NHS will be willing to do both of these blood tests.

We went to them, they said they need proof of the conversation we had with the clinic which we now have. So hopefully no more excuses from them and I will update you on what will happen next!

It's been a long time.

Hello everyone who may be reading!

It's been SOOOOOO long since I last posted!! So let me give you a summary. 

 I have had irregular periods since I started my periods I believe. So it has always been hard to pin point when I am ovulating. So I pointed this out to my GP they did an ultra sound and found a few cysts in my ovaries so they said that it's PCOS so for the longest time I thought it was PCOS that was preventing us from conceiving. I honestly think they went about all of this the wrong way. They started me on the pill and metformin. I stopped taking them simply because I had awful side effects. she told me to lose weight even though I had bmi of 22. So I thought that was odd.

Then they asked my husband to provide a sperm sample, his results didn't come out great either. He had a low sperm count and low motility which for a 22 year old is very odd. So they said they would book him in to see if there's any blockage or anything. The letter took 3 months to arrive. They also said they are booking me for another appointment. They booked it for next year 2016. I feel like they are longing things out because of our age, The doctor was extremely judgmental about our relationship and age.

So because I felt like the NHS was not taking us seriously. We pulled our pants up and booked an appointment with a private clinic...
