Early pregnancy symptoms

So I am exactly 4 weeks pregnant. My baby is 2 weeks old in development and I am due around 12th of January 2017.
The day after my 5 day FET I felt very painful pinches and stabs? on the left side of my very lower abdomen. They stopped the next day.
I also started feeling extreme hunger, I mean 10-20 minutes after a meal I would get hungry again.
6-8dpt I had period like cramps which was very worrying because I thought I was going to get my period.
I had no spotting.
oh and through out since day of transfer I was very fatigued. I took a nap in the afternoon and still woke up tired and sleepy.
and 5dp5dt my breasts started to hurt like they do before AF is due.

WE MADE IT!!!!!!!!

So, I went in for my transfer!!!! My goodness it was the worst experience I've had all year. Beats all the injections I've been taking. I drank a litre of water and I had to hold it in. I started crying because it was so painful and uncomfortable. The transfer itself was less than 1 minute. It's the prep that had me in agony. But it was done and as soon as that was done I ran to the toilet and it was the best feeling ever.
The we went home no waiting round nothing and I took my baby home.
Days following the transfer we excruciating. I googled everything from 'first signs of implantation' to 'whys my poop so dark' (tmi) but it was because of the progesterone.
As most infertile I caved and tested way too early. I think it was 4dp5dt. It was negative of course. Then I tested again at 5dp5dt and I saw a line so faint. I said it was an indent. And then again today... And although still faint it is definetly there!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

I feel like doing a dance and jumping around. I hope baby sticks all the way!!! I'm going to test again at 9dp5dt!!!
 6dp5dpt very faint line!

 7dp5dt!!

GETTING CLOSE! 22/04/2016

Soooooo, 5 days left until TRANSFER!!!
My day 15 scan was yesterday. My lining was 9cm. Which is amazing news because it means that my embryo will have a nice thick wall to implant into and nothing has to be canceled or changed.

I have started my progesterone pessaries today I inserted one this morning. A lot of discharge very messy. And I feel like it's making me feel really tired and sleepy.
I am still on my estrogen patches.
And I have booked an apponemnt for acupuncture before and after my transfer. I was told to call on Tuesday (day before transfer)

The only thing I'm worried about is that I have exams in May. Really worried that the stress will put my baby in danger.

But if God wills, everything will be fine. I'm thankful I made it this far without going mad shit crazy.

But we made it!!!

Stay strong.

IVF UPDATE!

So, since I last posted I said we had 8 day 3 embryos. Well, they all survived to day 5!! And were all frozen! Which was fantastic news! I had 3 5AA blastocysts a few 4AA and 4AB. One was 3AA. Which was another thing that made me happy.
I think so far I want one embryo transferred. But I read online that embryos help each other transplant so I was thinking of transferring 3AA and 5AA. I'm not sure yet though. I have started my norethestrone tablets and I started my period and I also started my everol 100 two patches which I have to change every 3 days. So because I started my patches on Thursday, I'd change them on Sunday. I have an appointment on cycle day 15 for an ultrasound and blood test. Hopefully, my wall is over 8mm.

I can't wait until this is over and I have my baby inside me.

EGG RETRIEVAL RESULTS!

They retrieved 29 eggs!! Out of which 26 were mature and 13 fertilised via icsi. 8 survived to day 3 and......at this point I am so worried any of them would make it to freeze!
We used the Embryo scope, which is why the numbers are particularly low at the end of it this is because they can detect more abnormalities than they can without the embryo scope.

Day of IVF/ICSI Egg retrieval!

We were at the clinic by 7.30, we payed off all IVF payments and then I was taken to theatre. They asked me my full name and date of birth like 100 times, they then set me up and seconds later I was asleep. When I woke up, they told me that I had 29 eggs retrieved. This cycle will be frozen and that they will call me tomorrow morning to let me know how many eggs were mature enough for fertilisation.
Pain wise, I had a little cramping nothing worse than period cramps, I had a little spotting. However, the pain got progressively more when I came home. I could barely walk. It was so painful especially when I needed to pee. It's comforting to know that the pain won't last forever. I just keep telling myself it's temporary and it will end. Oh and I took an antibiotic they also gave me some tablets to help lower my E2 Levels and they told me to book an appointment in two weeks time to discuss the frozen transfer

TRIGGER SHOT EXPERIENCE.

Last night, 9pm I triggered Buserelin. Triggering itself didn't hurt at all. However, 4am in the morning, I tried to turn in bed and the pain and heaviness woke me up. I felt so heavy in the abdominal area I don't know how to explain it but it was just heavy and sore. Went toilet for a wee, the pain lessened a little. However, I tried to lie down again and there it was. So I sat up. I keep having to waddle to the toilet and back. I've been drinking a lot of coconut water and water.. Some nuts and grapes only because that was available to me in the room. I didn't even want to try making my way down the stairs and in to the kitchen. I feel awful. I just want them out I can't wait until tomorrow.

More updates on everything tomorrow! Pray for me x

Final day of stimming, Trigger day & egg retrieval ❤️

29/02/2016 - I went in for my scan today, everything was going well, my follicles have now grown to 20-17mm on my right ovary and 20-14 on the left. I have 20 on the right and 8-9 on the left. However, she told me that my Embryo Transfer may have to be canceled because of my high estrogen levels which were over 9000. Which broke my heart. I guess I should have just stuck to having no expectations, but after a while when everything was going so well, I started to feel hopeful. . I just don't want to have an FET. What if they don't survive. What about all the dates I have planned that will all be ruined. I guess it's my fault for getting my hopes up.
I was told to take my Gonal F and my centrotide as normal between 4-7 and then trigger at 9pm ready for egg retrieval on Wednesday at 7.30.
I don't know what to say, my heart feels like it's been squeezed.

CYCLE DAY 10 SCAN & BLOOD TEST.

Today I had an appointment where I finally got to know how many follicles have devolved and what size.
I was so excited/worried that I couldn't sleep the night before and I spent the night on Google, searching other people's results.

So now I have finally got my results, I can share it with you.

Right ovary, there were 20 follicles, biggest one was 20mm. However, the rest of them were 13-11mm
Left ovary, there were only 9 follicles, ranging from 14-12.

She told me to drink a lot of water, and I will get a call this afternoon to talk about my next steps.
She also said that earliest predicted egg collection date would be this Tuesday or Wednesday.

I am a little worried about the 20mm follicle, because It will keep growing to become even bigger.
I walked in with no expectations.. But I didn't expect the 20mm one to be there. Ahh well.

Bring on Mondays scan! 💪🏽

This is how it all started.

So it's been so long,

Last I wrote, we were waiting for our genetic screening blood results. Well, they came back normal.
So after that we booked another appointment with the clinic and this is where we basically told them we are ready to start the IVF process. They took blood tests for viral screening and they sent us home with consent forms to fill in and bring to our next appointment. She also told me to start taking Folic acid and vitamin D tablets if I haven't been already.

On the 27th of January 2016, we went in again to hand in our consent forms and my husband was told to produce a sample to be frozen in case on the day of egg retrieval the sperm isn't as good. We paid for our prescription and that was set to be delivered to our home on the 29th of January. This came in one large box that was cold and one smaller box it felt like Christmas all over again only..the presents weren't all that pleasant.
My doctor gave me Norethisterone tablets to take 3 times a day from the 7th of February until the 13th of February to bring on a period. As expected my period then came on the 17th of february. This wasn't any like other period I have ever had. It was extremely painful and with very large clots.

I am on the Short protocol IVF. So I started by Gonal F injection on CD2, 150 IU. I take my injection 6pm everynight. The first injection was nerve racking, it wasn't painful in the slightest way. It was just the thought of injecting myself. I stood infront of my long length mirror with the Gonal F pen cm away from the injection site and I just couldn't bring my self to do it. But I did it. I slowly moved the needle until it was touching my skin and I applied pressure until it was in. Once it was in, it was fine. I felt this gush of relief come over me. A few minutes after I injected I felt a little light headed and extremely sleepy and there was this slight sting which wasn't at all unpleasant. Day 2 of stimming was pretty much the same as day 1 but I didn't feel the sting and I wasn't any braver about stabbing myself than I was in day 1. However, by day 3 I must admit, stabbing myself was getting less scary. & by day 4 I was a pro.

Day 5 I had to go in early morning for blood tests, usually the nurses use small needles because I have really small veins and perhaps I should have mentioned this to the nurse but I suppose I thought she would take a look at my veins and know. So she stabbed me with this big needle that was so painful and it left a huge purple bruise on my hand. Next time, I am going to let them know not to do that. So, I waited anxiously until 2 oclock which was when they called to confirm my blood results were normal and I can now at centrotide injections to my routine.
So 6 oclock same, and I was shaking, because with centrotide I have to mix the injections I did it, but when ever I pulled the mixture back up into the syringe there was this gap. & I didn't think to push it out which was stupid, so the clock was ticking and I ended up just pushing this air into my belly.
I pulled out, and I bled a little. Gonal F was also unusual today, I tried to stab myself as I usually do but this time, when the needle went in it was so painful, I couldn't do it, I took it out, and I changed the needle and tried another spot, it was a lot better.

by this time I felt like every passing day was revolved by 6pm, like I am just waiting for this time to come round you know?

Day 6 was challenging, I had to be in uni to finish off my assignements, I was nervous about doing this in the toilets, but it had to be done. So 6pm came round and my hands were shaking I went in, and I started mixing the centrotide injection, again big gap. I did it anyway but this time as I pulled out, there was drops of the solution that came out of my skin which was worrying. Gonal F again, was more painful to inject.

Day 7 was a difficult day, a very close friend had given birth, and I went to visit. I really did try. I was so happy. I am so happy for her. But I have this ball of jealousy in my chest. I kept thinking how I would be in her position. What I would act like. I hate feeling like this. So I go home, 6pm. Injection time, & centrotide was well no gaps. I learnt the trick. Alls well. then I just started blubbering like a big baby but I felt better afterwards.

& Today is Day 8.
